Washington DC 2nd Day

When  I woke up  this  morning , Kris has already  left  waking up  in  a little bit drizzly  day  isn't my  thing ,  fortunately  there was coffee in  the  room  courtesy  of the  hotel, so i used it I was to darn  lazy  to  go to  Starbucks  which is  located  in    the hotel's lobby.

A Peek thru a rainy  Tuesday  morning  in our Hotel's window

Our Scrounchy  Bed

After cleaning  up  our bed,   I  was getting ready  to  get a shower and catch  the next train  bound for  the city  while  I prep  myself to a brewed coffee ......

All the stuffs I needed to  make my coffee

My  brewed Coffee ^_^

I also  prepared  my  stuffs in the closet . Hang everything that  needed to  be hung  (I'm kinda a neat  freak
when it comes to  this stuff ) while I  was  taking mini  sips from my  coffee,   and also drying up  my  hair,  my  phone rang and it was my  cousin , I totally  forgot that  it's almost  lunch  time yikes!

So  we both  agreed that  we would eat  lunch together at Popeye's ( it was the quickest  way  to  get lunch  and I  rarely see a Popeye's fast  food  chain in  our area, back in  Philly)  before she goes back to her seminar and I  go  on  my mini  trail  around  Washington , D.C

My greasy  yummy lunch  with cajun  fries  :P

Washington, DC : 1st Day [ A Walk or Two - Dinner Time]

We walked around the city  for awhile then when our stomachs was calling to our attention ... BOOM!
We really had to  eat dinner already  and ended up  chowing down in RICE BAR who is famous for their BIBIMPAP or literally  in English means mixed rice that  is topped out with  namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste) .

We were lucky  that  we are still able to  get something to  eat  because we did arrived in the resto's location a little late and they  are about to  clean up  the place until we showed up  and gladly   we were able to  pick our  food. Kris got brown rice while I  got the white rice topped with  some bean sprouts, eggplant , bamboo shoots and korean kimchi  . We also  ordered some  California Roll  to go with our  dinner .

After chwoing down, we noticed that  it was darker than we entered and we had to   go  back to  our hotel since Kris's  seminar starts at 7:30ish  in the morning. As we hurried down the blocks and blocks and block of street while looking for the nearest  Metro station , we ended up  taking the Metro from  Foggy  Bottom  Station  .

This is like the rush  hour because we had to literally  stand up  in the train and  smelling everyone's armpits! ( or as we say it in tagalog KILI KILI ) . With  our  hand numbing ride to  our hotel  as we got off in  Rockville Station, we noticed that  our hotel can't be found anywhere (  literally it is a 8 minute walk  from  the station to  the hotel ) ... as we walked thru  and cous searched where the hell are we already  it turned out that  we are like  10 blocks away  from  our hotel according to her iPhone !

We decided to  get a taxi instead of walking because there was too much walking already  just  on  the 1st  day  in DC. As we tell the driver where are going he then mentions that  we got off the wrong station,  we got off at the 2nd last  stop  for the metro. It was supposed to  be in  WHITE FLINT and not in ROCKERViLLE!

The driver then adds that  it is confusing because the 3 stops before the last  stop  is considered as ROCK VILLE  (Rockville, Twinbrook and White Flint ).

As we are near our hotel it was a sign of relief and can't wait to get a hot shower and get some rest  for tomorrow's adventure . The ride with the taxi was fun and was a reminder that next time I take the Metro I have to get off the WHITE FLINT station and not Rockville and as parting gift  with the driver I  gave him the rest  of the change as his tip  for getting me and my  couz safe in our temporary home , our hotel .

Snagging a photo of moi before going off to  bed

Destination : Washington, DC 1st Day

It's around  1pm  when  my  cousin  dropped by and picked me up  at  the house while  I  was  doodling and scribbling sites to  go  to  in  DC  ( a habit of mine whenever I  go somewhere , I  list an Itenerary  that  I  do follow once in destination )

Our travel  to PA to  DC says that  it will  only take 2 hrs  and 34 minutes to  get to our destination  , but since  this trip  is my 1st ever to DC and cous's  2nd trip  but in a different route I guess, we had to  rely on
Ms. GPS  of iPhone4s. So  our trip  to DC was a smooth  one despite of the crazy traffic that  we had encounter while on our way  and hd a little discussion about some blooming trees that  had this  terrible smell (literally  smells like ughhh gross ) Pyrus calleryana or simply called a Pear tree a native of China / Taiwan that  was brought here in  the states during the 1900's , pretty  trees when in bloom but terrible smell  though  >_<

As we approached DC the weather seemed to be cooperating
( It was Sunny wahooo ) , however all of a sudden there was a change of  the weather, it became  a little gloomy and cold as we were looking for our hotel , we even got lost for a little while which made our  trip  more than what is expected.

We arrived in our destination around  4:30ish  in the afternoon

Lobby  of our Hotel

When  we got our keys, we took the elevator to go to our room and settled our stuffs in our closets and washed up  a little . Kris (my cousin ) and I were also hungry  already  that  we decided to  go to  the city
to  chow down and at the same time, where Kris can show me how to  take the Metro Trail  , the most convenient way  to  roam  around DC's famous landmarks.

Roadtrip Prep !

I was excited to  go on a road trip  with  my cousin whom  will  be having her   seminar in  our Nation's Capital ( Washington, DC ) with free hotel  and gas trip , C'mon guys who could pass up on that?

So I  could not resist that  offer besides living in the United States in my teen and early adult life, I never had the glance to even see  the White House although Pennsylvania  is  just a couple hours away from DC.

It's a Sunday  night  and  after going  to  church , I packed up my stuffs for the trip  and yes,
I usually  pack light  and in an organized  way

My Toiletries are tucked away   in  my   Vivienne  Tam double Happiness  Make Up Bag that  I  got on a very  good  deal in  JCPenney for  $ 10 ( it had an original price of $22 + State Tax ) .

Besides  my  toilettries , I brought  with  me my  very  own  Vivienne Tam Laundry  Bags  , how  could I  resist they  were really really CHEAP for 3 pc for a $1 ?  Who could pass on  that one right?
( Originally sold for  $22 + State Tax )

I seriously damaged my UN Colors of Benetton luggage  that I  ended  up   using my  2  mini  luggage get away bags . One being made of canvas which is by the way super durable that  i can fit everything in it , but  I got this phobia that  if I  stash  all my stuff I will end up destroying my bag purposely  >_<, so I  ended up using  my Nylon NEW YORK CITY tote bag  to put all my  footwear in it.

While I kept all my clothing in  my Kidrobot  (the pink one ) from  Kidrobot's Tado Little Secret Print from the Basix Collection in which I  bought 5 years ago  in  Bloomingdale's . This  bag is made of durable canvas and can I  say  UBER CUTE!(  ^_^)

Well, gotta get my beeauty  rest  guys,   Will  keep  you posted on  my  ROAD TRIP .

Betseyville by Betsey Johnson : Shoe Hauls

I always prefered heels over flats , but I was always open to the idea that  maybe someday  I will be hook with  flat footwear.

I always noticed that Filipinas or Pinays love to  wear  flat  shoes . And I've seen this  while having my vacations back in Philippines.

I went to  stroll in the mall  just to see if there were good deals that I  can  find and I couldn't pass the good deals in  shoe aisle  that  I  saw.

When it comes to  flat shoes,  I always look for  something comfy  and the ones that  will  not give me a single blister or so  ( >_< )

Who could pass the cute adorable flats by  Betseyville's Betsey Johnson shoe collection

Cutest flats ever with the hearts in black patent leather and multi colored black fabric
floral print

Black Purple Flower Ballet Flats

Hearts Leather Flats

The flats itself are very  comfy  I tried them  for almost  30 minutes in the mall just  walking and praying that  it will  not make my  picky feet hurt or bursting blister starting to  complain and giving me the hint that  I should return  the shoes back.

Fortunately , it was my lucky  day and the shoes were just  amazing , I can say comfy  and stylish  - ( ^_^ )-

Matthew 5:44

I  have been  quiet  for the past  days that  I  had stopped  blogging again ,  it just  didn't give me the urge to  sit and write my  thoughts...

I  thought that  I  had passed all the test or obstacles that  God can shower me  through out my  growing up  LIFE , however I was wrong....

Yes I've been abandoned by SO CALLED FRIENDS who weren't there when I needed them most ... It HURT!

Yes I've been left  behind  by  the so called PRINCE CHARMING  , leaving me and let me hanging like an idiot  ... It HURT  (  it took  time for  me to recover  like Bella when Edward left  her in that  movie Twilight )

Yes losing my  job that  I  dedicated my  self into  for the past  6 years ... It HURT    ( unaware when will  I  recover financially)

And then my mom diagnosed with Colon Cancer Stage 3 , IT TERRIFIED ME  ( the thought of loosing my  mom  to one of the most  leading form of cancers in the world )

These things  that  came my way ,  made me a stronger person , and just plain test from God.

However my  test  of  FAITH in  God is now in  question  as  my  Family try  to suck it all in one by  one things or circumstances that we all wish is just  a terrible nightmare .

I  want to  be angry

I want to  be mad

I  want to  cuss at people who enjoyed the suffering that  me and my family is going through  now

I  want to ask  the words WHY WHY WHY?

But here's one thing I'm sure of , that  God have  plans  and  have ways to  tell me  that  it will  be alright... that  I  have him  with  me at all  times despite of

the HURT
the PAIN
the AGONY

that I am feeling   the past  weeks and right now  and all I  can do  is FORGIVE.

the WALL .... ( An Original Composition)

 NOTE :

I  usually write poems anything that's on my mind. This was was originally written in February  8th , 2009 in my  old date planner, and now I decided  to  share it here  in  my personal  blog .

It's hard to  let go,
Specially if you  had build your dreams together

That  no matter what  happens,
The two  of you  will  have to face the obstacles forever
Standing side by side as ONE

But the unexpected happened,
and you have to face the truth.

The ugly painful truth
You have to LIE
You have to PRETEND

And no matter what  you  tell  yourself,
It is one of the hardest thing

You'll ever had to  do ...
To forget the person ,
whom you have

CARED for
LOVED for

for all these years .

Ironic isn't it?
the person who meant the world to you,
now becomes the person that  you  hated most .

You  go on circles , figuring out what  went on that  day ,
when GOODBYES were said .

You  thought of the right words to  say ,
But it broke down your  firm wall.

It broke your  heart
and yes you felt so deeply  apart.
